Who here has an interest in re-creating historical battles from say 1980 onwards?
    A few examples:
    Operation Just Cause
Operation Gothic Serpent (aka Black Hawk Down)
Or... Some SWAT style actions like that big hollywood shoot out that the SWAT movies startup was based on.

There are so many real battles that can be used to base a themed or loosely based on theme on. Lets hear some other ideas from you guys to see what the generally most popular interest is.

Iranian Embassy is a classic UK SAS action. I would definately like to try that one out.

Don't forget about the ever so important world wars!
Not much of a historic battler myself, but I think the work some guys put into
it, Like there uniform and replica choice, is highly respectable and amazing to boot.

I've seen many players from scoutthedougies videos wearing and using WW2 themed equipment. They do the costumes very well I must admit.

yeah, things like the battle for Caen, and Carentan, which if you look up "battle for Caen airsoft" in youtube you will see it and Carentan in the responses section, these guys have full WW2 equipment and uniforms, pyrotechnics used in cannons and mortars, I even got a mental image from a movie when I saw someone dressed up as a paratrooper holding onto his helmet with one hand and a rifle in the other in full combat gear making a dash for cover across an open stretch of ground.

this is the type of thing Id like to see happen, I also wouldn't mind a more modern setting skirmishes with weapons and gear, but of course, this is way out on the western front, as we still need to get airsoft legal in Australia lol

i think it would be fun to redo some of the operations from the world wars but with up to date gear, like not the exact same, for exaple hitler, playing one of the many attempts to capture hittler in berlin. so like one side is the allies and the other side nazis = one hectic game of cqb

In the interests of not getting any bad rep, it would be better to not dress as Nazi's, just soldiers from the German Army, the last thing you want is video footage of people in australia playing airsoft wearing nazi uniforms.

wow, Jamoise Couple days and already a smart poster!
Personally, I agree, Last thing airsoft needs is to be affiliated
with war mongering, race hating militants ( not say all are :p )
perhaps sticking to normal 'pats and uniforms that don't affiliate it in such way.

i didnt mean it in that way i menat it in more of a way of german soliders but i used the term 'nazi' to clarify the group of germans as not all germans were in support of hittler

If recreating a WW2 battle, it is advisable that the German team have a costume similar to this also without any armband swastikas.

If I had to guess they were recreated with a HIGH likeness to their previous models.
Me and a few mates used scrap from the work house and got one close to the same likeness.
Though, Finding KN03 at age 13 was to hard at the time :p
Kinda makes me want to start up the project again.

    K= potassium NO3= Nitrate

The Compound Potassium Nitrate is often used in fertilizers and food preservation as catalysts
However a quick look through the cookbook and one can discover it is a main ingredient for smoke bombs and other pyrotechnics.

I won't list the ingredients or how to make it, nor would i like others atm.
It would fall under a pyrotechnic and MAY need a license.
    Check you local laws :p

    In England you can!
They have to be bought from TLSfx, Flashbangs are sold in various strengths (MkIII, MkV and MkIX) we also use thermobarics (like a flashbang with some smoke) and multibangs!
