Best idea! i have been thinking it over and i think i have a very good advertising solution!

For the people that dont live in Brisbane, the main shopping district is a street smack bam in the middle of brisbane called Queen Street Mall and literally thousands of people are shopping there each hour! I have seen people put up stands for various occasions (gay rights/greenies etc,) and i thought why not shove a stand up in the middle of queen st mall and show what Airsoft has to offer Australia. I have talked to my girlfriend and she would be more than happy to help out (so there's our female voice) and as for all of you other guys out there that live in brissy you should come along as well Smile

We would set up a stand for a few hours on a weekend, handing out brochures and just generally explaining what Airsoft is about. The brochures can be made according to your specifications skitch, and it would have the website link etc. We would also have the petition form there so we would really be getting two things out of it. Promotion and Public support. Two things which i think are vital to us at the moment.

Anyway, tell me what you think Smile

To be quite honest I think you need to be careful who you are appealing to. Getting in touch with the people who make the laws, police higher-ips etc. is exactly the right thing to do, but when you come to the man on the street you need to remember that in Australia the conservative "think of the children!" mindset rules.
If those sorts of people found out that Airsoft was possibly going to be legalised they would no doubt raise the hue and cry, and Airsoft would be painted as terrorist training.

    Well Put Harlequin.
While publicity is undoubtedly needed. It is to be gone about carefully.
While people will advocate for the sport, odds are there will be more against it.
It's talking to the RIGHT people we need.

Oh, BTW: If anyone knows a Real steel Firing range owner, Ask WHY they don't allow
Airsoft rifles to be used at their field.
    Please and thanks

    Thanks again Harles.

    Cheers

Ahhh yes. Didn't think of that. So that pretty much blows my idea out the door. Maybe we could do it a bit further on down the track? So how are we going to reach our target audience? Like how are we going to make sure the right people only see what we are tryng to achieve and stop Whiny and Bitchy parents/citisens from starting an uproar?

    We Can't :p.
We can try, but will fail miserably.
All we can do is bear through it and Get as many supporters as we can.
So the best course of action is telling people who will bring positive light to the sport.
as soon as the Whining and bitching starts, we get a little more aggressive. Not storming
the buildings, tipping vehicles and throwing chairs aggressive, but a more aggressive and
    forthcoming Advertisement and promotion.
