One, I am disappointed to announce that All information on this forum will be lost due to the moving of the site.

bb guns shoot metal bbs airsoft shoot plastic we kinda talk about airsoft but here goes.
bb pistols that are around 100 years old are classed as antique firearms and you dont need a liscence but it is a good idea to inform local authorities. Rifles on the other hand are diferent. u need a liscence and a safe over 500kg bolted to the floor and ammo stored in a seperate safe.You cant really register it either because you will be fined for not having liscenced it when you got it. sorry if cought you will be fined and charged with posession of an illegal firearm

As Pellet said, you would need a license for the ownership of said BB gun, as they are still classed as a class a firearm in AUS i think?
However, if you dont advertise the fact you have it, and are mature while using it, and only use it in ur house/garden, then im sure you will be fine.
just DONT take it on the street.
DO NOT point it at ANYONE (animal or man)
Use proper eye protection while using it
Do NOT fire towards houses or buildings
use ONLY plastic BBs (how you obtain these however is unknown to me as i think that is illegal)

for your information Airsoft isnt called airsoft cz we shoot plasic BB's, as i know you can get 6mm glass BBs and metal coated ones.
it is still a BB gun because we shoot BB's (ballbearings)
Things that shoot .177 copperhead BB's are classed as Air Pistols and yea you need a license for them!
