Two tone Airsoft guns
I suggest everyone google two tone airsoft guns, even though they look a little wierd i think they will be quite a strong contender in the help to get Airsoft legalised.

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
It's actually a fantastic idea.
No one can say that a clear/smoke lower receiver, OR a bloody bright green one looks like real steel.
I'm adding it to the document.
Thanks Ark

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
Great idea Arkapok! I have never heard of them up until you have mentioned them just now actually?
For those that are too lazy to click on the *new tab* button and type "Two Tone Airsoft Guns" then ill just explain it to you now. They are basically exactly the same as the average Airsoft Guns except for the colouring. Instead of being one colour (black for example) they mix two colours with one Airsoft Gun. So for example a Two Tone Airsoft Gun would have a BLUE pistol grip, fore-grip and butt while the rest of the body would be the normal colour.
This is an example of one.
The advantage to these is that the government can't pull the old "But the look toooooo much like a real steel firearm" because honestly, what AK47 would have blue plastic + an orange tip on the end?

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
Copied over from the old forums.
Here was my post on the English laws that you could use ideas from
just some more info on our laws that maybe you could steal
UKARA
Some info on the VCR bill
Here is some of the stuff i can think of on the top of my head.
1. Become a member of an airsoft site
2. Play 3 games in NO LESS than 2 months
3. Register with UKARA (after the last 2 steps are complete)
4. Be over 18 to own a RIF.
5. If not you are not registered with UKARA, but still aged over 18 you can own a 'two-tone' Imitation Firearm
6. aged over 14 to play, with parents permission.
7. Airsoft Retailers must also be UKARA registered
8. All sites must have adequate insurance! and everyone playing must sign an insurance waiver!
9. Eye protection should be worn at ALL TIMES, unless in the safe zone. Full face protection is recommended, but glasses can be worn (special BB Resistant glasses, not just sunglasses!!!)
We also have maximum velocity rules which are normally (for woodland and outdoor sites) all taken with chronographs before EVERY game day with .2g BB's
1. 350 fps for automatic RIFs (Assault rifles etc..)
2. 400 fps for single fire only weapons
3. 500fps for spring powered sniper rifles (bolt action, single shot) with minimum contact range of 35m
4. 1 joule for pistols (about 328 fps i think)
5. normally Pyrotechnics (Flashbangs, ball grenades and smoke ONLY bought from tlsfx is allowed)
these rules change slightly from site to site but are normally pretty much the same, normally everything is only change on urban and indoor sites
Example of a two-tone rifle
If you have any questions about our laws that you would like more info on ask away

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
Have you even used a Two tone rifle before? And if so, then what is it like in comparision to normal Airsoft Guns? (weight, texture, 'cool factor',accuracy etc.)
Do many people use them?

eww... two tone?
welp, It's most certainly better than nothing.
I suggest 2 tone for tha AEG's ONLY. As it is the main concern right?

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
The major reasons Airsoft is illegal at the moment is because they look like their real counter-part and they can and have been used in criminal activity, the other loosley based reaons are that they shoot projectiles that can cause harm to another person and break the skin on contact as well as simulate seek and destroy missions possibly leading to terrorist training......hhmmmm, so does another sport involving little balls of paint hhmmm.
Two tone Airsoft guns provides an alternative to this by making them resemble toys rather than guns, once Airsoft is legalized with the use of two tones, then we can start with trying to get the replicated versions legalized, but one step at a time boys

The two-tone guns are EXACTLY the same except painted brightly, only people that use them here are normally under 18's

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
I have no problem with 2 tones, ya gotta make do with watcha got and if thats wat it takes to get this great sport legalised then i guess we go at it great guns, maybe making GBB weapons and normal colouring legalised for people who are members of an airsoft club, it would stop the idiots who whould use the guns for the wrong thing? just throwing around some ideas

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
While I do totally agree 100% and understand that the 2 tone airsoft replicas will probably be the favoured things that we are most likely to gain access to for the obvious reasons that others here have already stated... personally I am not entirely sure that I am willing to fork out a pile of money for a bright green/orange/blue/pink replica weapon to pair up with my camo uniforms (which looks quite comical judging by the vids I've seen on youtube) mostly because I really had my hopes set more on the more serious and realistic sides of airsoft. To be brutally honest, the 2 tone thing might as well be thought of as being in the same category as lasertag or paintball because those things at least get to be mostly black in colour only their shape and appearances are out of scale. (this could really be a good factor to mention to the politicians and other people out there)
This does not mean that I will withdraw my support for ASA, nor does it mean that I am trying to pay out or disagree with anyone or anything or that I have some "gucci" obsession. The important thing is that it would be a very good starting point to hopefully work up from in order to let us Aussies have access to the same kinds of airsoft replicas as all the other countries out there so that we can have our own realistic and fun airsoft battles.
I really hope that what I was trying to say here made sense!

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
totally agree mate normal weapons would be a top priority if we can get them, just saying they may be a good starting point to show the government that we r NOT like those idiots who go out and take their rifles to the streets and stuff then after maybe a few months we can get proper rifles, who knows they might let us have em straight away

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
I'm pretty sure that in England, they have rules stating that you have to use 2 tones if your under 18 or if you don't have a licence/ membership with a club.....how ever, if you are over 18 and have the licence/membership etc you can get pretty much anything.....well something along those lines, correct me if i'm wrong heh.

That's actually a pretty good system. I would be fine with this being used as laws for Airsoft assuming under 18's are able to play.

Re: Two tone Airsoft guns
I'm pretty sure that there are rules that say if your under 18 you can play as long as its at a regidtered field, being accompanied by a registered/licenced player, have no lawful misdemeanours (?) and wear a full face covering, but you can't own your own Airsoft gun until 18 or over.

In england a minor can only play airsoft if they have parent permission, are aged over 14, wear a full face mask and only use two-tone rifles UNLESS they hire from the site!
