YouTube Channel needs help!

Hi guys, we have recently created a new YouTube Channel and need some suggestion regarding the layout of the actual page. Any artists out there?

I have skills and talents with photoshop.

If you have any request for a youtube background, I should be able to do it.

Ah great! The background should include things which DON'T promote violence. We don't know who might come across the page so we need to keep it fairly universal. Something to give the people looking at in an idea of what airsoft is about just from one glance. So in this case the banner used on this forum would be perfect to put in there. Shows who we are and what we are about. If you could come up with an 'eye catching' yet miltary style background that would be great, but if not then i will just send you the background used on this forum. That should be sufficient enough for now.

Just make sure the banner is in there somewhere

Just a question guys... what are we going to put on the ASA YouTube channel seeing as we have nothing that is truely ASA to display... anyone interested in a little cosplay for the cameras tp get things started?

Well i was thinking of making a short yet concise video explaining what we are about, what we are trying to achieve and how to join our community. Basically saying the stuff that is written on the petition plus some pictures explaining what it looks like. What did you have in mind?

Well actually I was going to say something similar to what you just said there but throw in a little live action roleplay scenes depicting things that we can currently and legally demonstrate like uniforms and bits of kit or maybe add in a little humour to show that at the end of the day it is all in the name of fun and no one gets hurt.

Yeah sure that sounds great! So you have gear to show and uniforms? So you are able to make the video? If so we can put full credit towards you and you can be the starting face of ASA!

?? everyone on this site helping ASA get legalised is a starting face of ASA so include everyone

while everyone will eventually get a say in the Channel, I believe we need a "Spokesperson"
A designated individual who would like to be the face of ASA.
For this position, we'll need a bit of a "Try out"

Explaining reasons why they would be fit for the position.

-as for a first video Idea, why not be dressed up in your cammies walking in the bush.
In other words, have a camera man Walking backwards while the `spokesperson`walks towards them.
Have the spokes person Explain the current situation, and have a link to the site, and directly to the petition.

what would be cool would to have the person walking thought the middle of a airsoft battle so there are like bbs going every where and have the guy pretent to catch a bb if we coud do this some how it would be good because it sort of shows how safe it is and stuff because he is walking thought the middle You catch my drift?

well.. thats an ideabut to make it easier walk backwards holding a bb and throw it and then play the tape in reverse so it looks like your walking forwards and catching the bb

Lastly, It may be difficult for Australians to create THAT image. as well, they can't at the moment.

Note: The target audience for a Video like that is mid-teen to late-teen.

Haha how are we going to get BB's in the first place?

Anyway. I have come up with a general idea of what the VERY first video should be. Ill post it up here shortly and let everyone have some input as to what they think. IT doesn't include the "Airsoft battle with bb's flying everywhere, or cameraman walking backwards though. Even though that is a good idea we will leave it to maybe the next video. For now we need to focus on telling people that YES we are back, and YES we are actually doing something.

My name is ______ and I am here to talk to you about the status of Airsoft in Australia on behalf of the newly founded ASA.

Now if you are watching this video then you obviously are interested in the legal status and sport of Airsoft in Australia.
There are several sites up at the moment promoting they are the face of ASA with fancy websites and pretty pictures. This is not the case.
A few years ago ASA made huge progress regarding the legislation of Airsoft in Australia. This was originally started by a man called
John C. Hanlon. John was the original founder up until mid last year until he just completely disappeared. No warning, no explanation,
nothing. And after all the hard work he put into ASA (creating bills, promotion etc.) I find it hard to believe he tried this hard
and invested several thousand dollars of his own money just to leave, without a genuine purpose.

After his disappearance the site eventually ran out of domain registration and several other sites have popped up in its place, trying to re-create
the once blooming and successful name that John had fought for and tried so hard to get. These websites however have proved to be
nothing other than a waist of domain space and useless writing.

However, the new face of Airsoft Australia is being created right now as you watch this video. A man called Joshua Schierling has created a
forum and is in the making of the new official ASA website. He has put tremendous effort so far as to getting that one bit closer to
legislation of airsoft including a real petition (none of the crappy online ones, because do you think that the GOVERNMENT
will accept a legal document from some un-reliable source on the internet? Taking into consideration bots/spammers?". The petition
is a legal hard copy and is getting signatures as I sepal. But we need YOUR help. The more people we have getting this petition out there,
the faster we will have Airsoft Legal once again! And trust me, petitions DO work. Once the government sees the amount of people that want this
sport back in Australia they will think twice.

The current state of legislation is as follows (you could put in stuff about the Police ppl passing the latest bill etc.)

We are in constant contact of local authorities trying to find out the latest info so we can give it to you. All of this info and
discussion is found on our current forum.

I have been following Airsoft in Australia for 3 years now, and I know how everyone is feeling towards the government. But with YOUR
help we WILL make a difference and make this awesome sport legal once again.

Go to the forum, sign up, print the petition and YOU can do your part to get AS going again. For more info go to the website in the

NOTE- The people that will be watching this will most likely be people interested in Airsoft so I don’t think we need all the visual
appeal as of yet. Yes it is defiantly important. But Youtube at this current stage has NO other competition in regards to someone
actually talking into a camera and saying that they are actually doing something. So all the people that youtube search will find us
and hopefully get us out first boom of members!

I have plenty of kit so that is not a problem and I will consider making a little something down the line but NO promises though because I am very busy with my job. A few things that really need to be mentioned and made a point of are a few real life firearm handling rules like always keep your finger off the trigger and keep the weapon pointed down range or in a clear and safe direction which would usually be straight down. Never wave about a replica weapon especially in public which would obviously cause some serious legal dramas. Also topics like proper safe storage and also to never point an airsoft replica weapon at anyone or anything outside of a proper organised airsoft match. I think the idea of trying to film something in the middle of a airsoft battle might not give off the best message to people if you consider how it will look to a viewer or more importantly their parents who may have safety or maturity concerns.

...and one more very important thing needs to be mentioned: An airsoft player needs to be honest! I say this because we all must admit when we are "HIT" otherwise things would probably get out of hand.

how much would it cost to hire an actor. wll actually that would be missleading beause they dont actually want airsoft they just want money. i have good airsoft gear but a crap camera and id love to do it but i cant camera wise so u have to disclude me sorry

Great . Well i recommend just putting a video up telling everyone that we actually EXIST first before we get to the rules and so on.

well that's pretty simple, I currently have a HD camera so I'll post something up on my youtube channel about this forum and what we are trying to accomplish.

i was thinking we could just have a voice over some pics of airsoft it would not look so good but it would be easier.
